Self-care for depression

Depression is a common mood disorder when your life feels like it is out of balance. Symptoms of depression include feeling sad, sporadic crying, no motivation, and less interest in things you used to enjoy. If you’re suffering from depression, here are a few ideas to help you beat it:

  • We all have a great need to live for something more important than ourselves. Take the time to reflect and think about what matters to you the more.
  • Spend some time in the week helping those who are really in need.
  • Take time to enjoy nature and restore the magical emotions that life brings to you.
  • Remember to take holidays from work and get away from your everyday life
  • learn to relax. Try yoga, meditation, muscle relaxation or a breathing technique 
  • Think deeply about the wealth of life and what it would mean to be truly wealthy.

Remember, strong connections can help you get well faster and help you stay well for longer. Depression and anxiety can make it hard for you to deal with everyday situations. By using some of these strategies you can take some of the stress out of your life.
